teaching abroad

Many placements for teaching abroad enable you to teach conventional English and most other subjects. You will generally be schooling children but sometimes adults. Your pupils will mostly be from the poorer section of society. Schools and orphanages along with social care centres are in need for teachers who can give ten to twenty hours a week spread usually over five days but occasionally over six, depending on the school.Your teaching will help the children in so many ways, and they want to learn because they know that the end result will be greater opportunities in life for them, whether career wise or, for the luckier ones, possibly getting into a better university.

You do not need any qualifications for teaching abroad. We will provide you with a teaching guide that has been composed to help you map out your lessons and give you ideas for them. You best weapon is that you are foreign. Children will bombard you with questions about where you are form, your family, if you have been teaching abroad before etc. But you will have to outline lesson plans but you will get help form the teachers and the headmaster with this

If you have no experience and you're nervous at the idea of teaching abroad, don't worry, you're not alone. You can enrol in an optional one day intensive open teacher training course which will provide you with advice and mechanisms to give you more confidence. We also provide you with a Teaching Suggestions Guide which we've put together for our volunteers. It is packed with guidelines to help you plan lessons and has many examples and ideas for topics and games to use in class to help the children gain confidence in using English.

Many teachers go teaching abroad every year mainly to help with disadvantaged children. These children want to learn, which is an eye opener for teachers. Imagine children who WANT to learn. Most people who go teaching abroad find that it refreshes their spirit for teaching when they return home.

Teaching abroad doesn't just have to be academic.Your sports skills will be an exellent asset, the children love it and it's also a successful informal environment to encourage your students to use their English. It's wonderful to watch how the childrens confidence grows, so if you can coach them in football, cricket, boxing or any other sport, then this is definitely the placement for you. If the schools don't have the equipment for your sport, Travellers will donate sufficient kit to get them started and possibly even to encourage inter schools tournaments once the children have gained sufficient skills.

If you have any skills or knowledge that isn't on our website let us know so we can arrange a placement where you can contribute through teaching abroad.

Ever thought about teaching abroad Now you can,you don't need any qualifications. You will give much needed help to local communities. You can also teach Sports, Drama, IT or academic subjects, Music, Football and Cricket the list is almost endless. Your help is very much appreciated.
