VOLUNTEERS WITH SPECIAL NEEDSWe would like to be able to accommodate everyone who wants to do a placement overseas. However, we need to work in partnership with our host organisations overseas and the final decision on who is accepted will always lie with them. Wherever possible we make provisions for any special needs our volunteers may have. When a volunteer has special needs, we contact the appropriate medical practitioner, whether it is your GP or a specialist, in order to gain more information to help us help you choose the best possible placement for you. Our priority is always to ensure each and every volunteer a safe and comfortable experience. We cannot guarantee you the first choice of placement, depending on your needs, but we will always do our best to find you a suitable project, where possible, where we know you will best be supported. Certain projects don’t lend themselves well to certain needs requirements and we need to ensure that you and the project/destination are ideally compatible. We deal with any special needs on an individual basis. If you’re not sure whether your disability will hinder your ability to volunteer on a particular project, please just contact us.
