Are you
aged 17-23 and working with children as part of your volunteer programme?
If the answer is ‘Yes’, then register for a free training day in London with
the British Safety Council. This one-day course will cover personal health
and safety for volunteers and also teach you how to deliver basic health and
safety to children overseas.
The course is
FREE for all Travellers volunteers

How it
works
Travellers Worldwide has partnered with the British Safety Council to teach
basic health and safety to children in developing countries. Once you have
secured a place on your chosen Travellers project, you will be invited to
attend a training day on the 21st May 2010 at the British Safety
Council in London. Your training day will include a health and safety
briefing and an examination, which leads to the BSC Level 1 Certificate
in Health and Safety at Work, a nationally recognised qualification in
health and safety.
You will be briefed on how to
deliver basic heath and safety awareness training to people in developing
countries, and will be provided with a teaching pack.
The British Safety Council aims to
reach 3,000 children this year through volunteer programmes.
You will then teach health and
safety as part of your voluntary project, and, where possible, help your
students achieve the BSC Entry Level Award in Workplace Hazard Awareness, a
formal qualification which is already available in UK schools.
