LIST OF TEACHING PROJECTS IN SRI LANKA

SRI LANKA

. .

Work with children and adults who benefit enormously from your help! Our volunteers have helped to improve significant sections of the local community schools, enabling more children to have access to education. Our schools are for the poorer children and the underprivileged section of the community and you can teach a range of subjects - anything that you have a reasonable knowledge in.

You don't need any qualifications to do these teaching projects and you can combine it with any other project in Sri Lanka to give you a more diverse experience of the adventurous country.

TEACHING IN JA-ELA ON THE WEST COAST OF SRI LANKA
You'll help the poorer children in the local community, in Travellers' long-term programme where volunteers have benefited the children over the years. You'll work in a range of schools and orphanages. This is a sociable placement where you'll share accommodation and work with many Travellers volunteers.

TEACHING IN RURAL WASGAMUWA - A TRULY CULTURAL SRI LANKAN EXPERIENCE!
Here, too, you'll help the poorer children in the local community  which is based in a stunningly beautiful location. Our teaching programme takes place a 10 minute drive from Wasgamuwa National Park. This placement is ideal if you enjoy wildlife and the outdoors - there is plenty to keep you occupied in this beautiful region. The surrounding jungles and villages can be explored easily by foot or bike and trips to other parks in the region can be arranged.

The experience you gain will be invaluable to you in the future and totally different to what you're used to in your home country.

Just thought I would e-mail to say that I had a fantastic time in Sri Lanka. I have been able to learn so much from the experience. Am enjoying having my class back here in England but really do miss teaching in St. Joseph's school and everyone out in Sri Lanka. Since having such a fab time in Sri Lanka I am thinking of doing some more projects. Thank you once again for enabling me to have a great time. Anne Coulthard.

"I just wanted to let you know, that I had the time of my life in Sri Lanka. It was FANTASTIC, I wish the entire experience had never had to end. I would just like to say thank you to your team of organisers for organising the spectacular trip. And also a big thank you to Roshan, Shivani ... and all the boys at the house for making my stay very welcoming and memorable. I miss them all very much. And I will definitely want to return and pay them a visit." Rajni Kanda
