We help schools in a few different locations, each with its own unique attractions and experience. Please select one from the list below that appeals to you the most.
You can combine two or three different projects to gain a broad Africa experience.
You can also teach a variety of subjects, including Conversational English (or your home language), Music, Drama, Sports, IT, Design Technology and many other Academic subjects. You don't need any qualifications to teach on any of these projects.

TEACHING IN THE HOLIDAY RESORT OF KNYSNA
Work in the
renowned Garden Route, with some of the most beautiful beaches and coastline in the world. You'll help the poorer African children in the local community, in Travellers' long-term programme where volunteers have benefited the children over the years. This is a very sociable placement where you'll share accommodation and work with many Travellers volunteers.

TEACHING IN A ZULU VILLAGE, WITH OPTIONAL SPORTS COACHING
A truly unique teaching location in the heart of Zulu country! Work with local children and
see the difference you make to their lives. You can also teach music and dance, and sports, too, if you'd like to do that, or if you have computer or IT skills, they would really love you to teach them. This is a project rich in cultural experience!

TEACHING ON A FARM IN THE GAUTENG PROVINCE
This project takes place in two very different schools located in Gauteng Province in Northern South Africa.
One of the schools you'll work in is located on an organic farm. Here you’ll work with children from more affluent backgrounds. This is a ‘Montessori’ school and has computer facilities and basic sports gear.
You’ll then take the knowledge you’ve gained and share it with a poorer school located on a nearby Game Reserve.

TEACH DESIGN TECHNOLOGY IN KNYSNA IN THE CAPE
Design Technology enables children to become free thinking, creative and to use their imagination. The problem is that many of the poorer township schools know little about the subject and are in desperate need for people with design experience to come to their schools, bringing with them their own ideas and hopefully helping to nurture a new generation of design thinkers in South Africa.

LIVE AND TEACH IN CAPE TOWN, ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CITIES IN THE WORLD!
Teach English and other subjects at a school located in the foothills of Table Mountain. The children at the school come from Cape Town's townships and are from poorer backgrounds. Cape Town has a lot to offer with its beautiful beaches, great surf and of course the famous Table Mountain.

TEACHING AT A DEAF SCHOOL IN CAPE TOWN
Teach at school in Cape Town that caters for partially and fully deaf children. Your help and support are appreciated by everyone, but mostly by the children! The school is very poor with a few classrooms, library and a hall. Every bit of involvement makes an incredible difference!
