MEDICAL PROJECTS AND INTERNSHIPS OVERSEAS

Experience Medicine and how it's practiced overseas by doing a project or internship in the many diverse opportunities we have available. You can work in Hospitals, Clinics and Social Centres with children or adults in a varied range of departments, always with the objective of helping the local community.

For some placements you don't need any qualifications. For others you may be required to be studying Medicine in some form, or be qualified. Whatever your requirement or qualifications level, there will be a placement here for you!

GHANA

• Medical Work Experience Internship: Work in a fairly new Medical Centre in Accra, with good facilities and a wide-ranging team of medical specialists. Includes Nursing, Optometry and Dentistry, among others.

KENYA

• Medical Work Experience Internship in Mombasa in a world-renowned hospital on the island of Mombasa.

• Medical Work Experience Internship in Diani in the coastal resort of Diani

SOUTH AFRICA

• Care work with children in the largest dedicated Children's Hospital south of the Sahara. This is not a Medical project as such, but does give you the opportunity to care for children in a Hospital Environment.

• Psychology, Counselling and Social Work in Knysna - Assist social workers who provide Counselling services to people in need of support owing to emotional problems. These can include marital and family stress, depression, mid-life crisis, divorce counselling, HIV-related counselling, conflict management and parenting.

ZAMBIA

• Medical Work Experience Internship in a clinic helping the local communities about 30km just outside of Livingstone town centre.

INDIA

• Medical Placements in Hospitals: All placements are based in Madurai. You will be able to experience a general hospital overview as well as the chance to volunteer at smaller doctor’s practices which specialize in gynaecology and obstetrics, paediatrics and psychology. No qualifications are required!

• Pharmaceutical Work Experience. One of the two project Hospitals we work with has a substantial Pharmaceutical Department where you will be able to work as part of your overall medical placement.

• Dentistry Work Experience. At a state-of-the-art dental practice in central Madurai.

MALAYSIA

• Care Project/Physiotherapy - Help children with mental, physical and emotional disabilities as well as some young adults and abused women/children. This is a challenging and rewarding project that is suitable for disabled volunteers because the buildings are wheelchair friendly and accessible.

NEPAL

• Medical Work Experince Internship in Kathmandu - Observe the work of doctors and nurses in a variety of hospitals and/or departments. This placement is ideal for those studying Medicine, and also for Pre-Meds who are looking for something valuable to enahance their CVs or Résumés.

• Dentistry Work Experince Internship in Kathmandu - This placement is ideal for those studying Dentistry, or those who simply want to gain some firsthand experience in Dentistry. Nepal is a very diverse country - filled with stunning landscape, different climatic zones and endless sights to explore.

SRI LANKA

• Medical Work Experience Internship in Negombo in a hospital where you'll work is situated in a great location in Negombo. It's a wonderful modern building surrounded by typical Colonial Sri Lankan style houses, and the streets are lined with trees.

NEW ZEALAND

• Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy with Physically Disabled Children at a special unit in Auckland. You'll work with children who have disabilities such as multiple sclerosis and mobility problems.

ARGENTINA

• Nutrition & Healthcare Project for Young Children with Malnutrition in Mendoza Work with Paediatricians, Nutritionists, Social Workers and Nurses to help a worthwhile hospital in Mendoza combat infantile malnutrition.

ECUADOR

• Care Projects: in a Children's Hospital in Quito, that really needs volunteers! This is not a Medical project as such, but does give you the opportunity to care for children in a Hospital Environment.
